The film has Suraj Venjarammoodu in the lead role, and originally Priyamani was expected to play the female lead. The reasons for Priyamani walking out of the project are not yet known.

Now its learned that Mythili might play Suraj’s heroine in the film. The film that tells a very different story is expected to be a milestone in Suraj’s career.

Even earlier, films with Suraj Venjarammoodu in the lead, like ‘Duplicate’ and ‘Female Unnikrishnan’ had faced the same problem of not being able to cast a heroine opposite Suraj.

Though several actresses have been approached, its learned that no one has been finalised as yet. The film has Suraj in a role that is quite different from his usual films.

Nowrunning feels it should have released years back: “Times are changing, and so are films. But unfortunately, films that remain oblivious of these winds of change continue to be made. ‘Perinoru Makan’ is one such film that deserved to be in the theatres a good ten years back.”

Rediff says the film is just indifferent: “With the advent of the so-called new age cinema where filmmakers are trying to tell stories of mostly urban individuals in innovative ways, the old stories of joint families in rural areas have taken a back-seat. Director Vinu Anand tries to fill this vacuum with his new film Perinoru Makan, with Innocent as the main lead. The question is, is there a market for such films today?”

However the actor is lucky to have got none other than national award winning actress Priyamani to pair with him in his new film. Titled ‘Ente Sathyanveshana Pareekshakal’, this film would be directed by Subil and scripted by Shankar Ramsakrishnan. The film would tell the story of a comedian who has to deal with depression. The makers assure that this would undoubtedly be Suraj’s best performance as yet. Priyamani, reports claimed, was also very excited by her role in the film, the shooting of which would start by July end.

However, the actress has recently revealed to a leading daily that she is not aware of such a project!! Strange indeed. Now would someone associated with the film make a clarification?

Suraj has much confidence in his role in the film that he revealed to a national daily recently that his performance might make the viewers reach for their handkerchiefs. It would indeed be a welcome change for the viewer as well, who has repeatedly seen Suraj in another light altogether.

Suraj has also been criticized for doing the same kind of roles time and again, but of late, the actor has tried to reinvent himself with diverse kind of roles. He has also signed up for another film that has been titled ‘Ente Sathyanveshana Pareekshakal’ that would be directed by Subil.

There would also be Riyaz Khan, Bijukkuttan, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Sphadikam George, Kalabhavan Prajod and Guinness Pakru in supporting roles. Cinematography is by Pappu, while Bhavan will be in charge of the editing department. Sanjeev Thomas will compose the musical score.

‘My Fan Ramu’ would be produced by Sasi Ayyanchira under the banner of Uthrattathi Films Private Limited. Sabu Pravadas has created the media designs.

Suraj would be seen playing the lead role in a film that has been titled ‘Ente Sathyanveshana Pareekshakal’ to be directed by Subil. This film would be scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan, and Suraj says the script writer has instilled confidence in him. he also says that it would be distinctly different from all other roles that he has done till now. Suraj was interacting with a Malayalam film magazine when he made the revelations.

This would be Suraj’s third film as a hero, after ‘Duplicate’ and ‘Female Unnikrishnan’. Of these two films, the first has been declared a commercial success, while the second one is yet to make it to the theatres.
