The character that Mohanlal plays in the film is a don, reminiscent of the character of Godfather played by Marlon Brando in the Francis Ford Coppola classic.

Poornima Bhagyaraj would be Mohanlal’s female lead, and ‘Jilla’ that would be shot on a budget of sixty crores by debutante director Neshan would release for next Pongal.

Unconfirmed reports claim that its for a Tamil film that the two actors will come together and that the film has been titled ‘Jilla’. These reports also claim that it would be directed by debutante director Nesan and  produced by veteran producer R B Choudhary under the banner of Super Good Films.

Kajal Aggarwal would be the heroine of the film that would start its shoot in April 2013. Official confirmations are eagerly awaited.

The reports also suggest that discussions between the lead actors have already been done, and that the film might turn out to be a reality in the not-so-distant future!

Let’s wait for more official confirmations regarding the film, since even earlier there have been many such reports regarding Mohanlal doing a Tamil film, which had never materialised. The much loved actor who is extremely choosy when it comes to his roles, is probably waiting for the right role to come his way, and we hope that this Vijay film offers him just that!

His prowess at dance and fights is well-known and Murugadoss has packaged and presented the movie perfectly in sync with Vijay’s skills at commercial cinema.”

Oneindia thinks the expectations have been realized; almost: “What would one expect from the big names of Vijay and AR Murugadoss when they join hands for the first time? Something brilliant. Isn’t? Well, the duo, who has teamed up for Thuppakki, has almost managed to live up to the expectations of the audience.”

It was Mujeeb Khan himself who revealed recently to a leading Malayalam film weekly, that he is quite close to Vijay’s dad Chandrasekhar, which made this project possible.

Vijay would play a young man named Vishnu in the film which would be an action entertainer with loads of comedy. S N Swamy would script the film that would have a story penned by the director himself.

The film has Vijay playing an encounter specialist alongside Kajal Aggarwal. Featuring background score and soundtrack composed by Harris Jayaraj and produced by Thanu, the film is being awaited by Vijay fans across the world with bated breath.

However, looks like the film will never get to be made! Yes, ‘Yohan Adhyayam Ondru’ has been officially shelved and it was the director himself who tweeted and revealed the news. “And to all the people who have been asking, Yohan with Vijay is not happening. No film with Vijay now. A.L. Vijay is directing Vijay’s next film. I’m finishing Neethaane.. And then will figure out my next film.,” tweeted Gautham.

It’s not yet known as to what had transpired, but the news has been received with much disappointment by Vijay fans.

It was director Murugadoss himself who broke the news officially on Twitter, when he tweeted, “Thuppakki teaser will come after 10 days. Please bear with us ”! The reason being quoted is that there are several films being readied to be released on the 22nd and the release of the teaser along with them, might take away a bit of the attention from the trailer.

‘Thuppakki’ that is being directed by A R Murugadoss is easily one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year. The cinematography of ‘Thuppakki’ is being handled by none other than Santhosh Sivan himself.

‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’ is being directed by Sneha, and for those who have come in late, Vikram Prabhu happens to be the son of veteran actor Prabhu. The film has not one or two, but three heroines, Reema Sen, Karthika Nair and Pia Bajpai opposite Vikram Prabhu.

Vikram is also busy shooting for the film ‘Kumki’, and hence has reportedly requested the ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’ team to wait for a while. This film is the remake of S A Chandrasekhar’s hit film ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’ and would be produced under the banner of Vijay’s Ghilli Films.

Sarath Kumar said that the news is totally false, and that there has been no communication regarding a part in the film, from the unit of ‘Thuppakki’. Malayalam actor Jayaram however, is a part of the cast, and had earlier stated that he has enjoyed playing the part in ‘Thuppakki’.
